WHAT IS PLURALISM?

Pluralism is not a religion!  it is nothing but our attitude of  "Respecting the otherness of others" -i.e., giving full value to the other person regardless of his social status, cultural affiliation, religion, or the kind of work one does. It is looking up at different ideas and valuing it for its uniqueness.

If we can learn to respect the otherness of others, and accept the God given uniqueness of each one of the 7 billion of us, then conflicts fade and solutions emerge.

Cultural Pluralism :: Its enjoying the beauty of how people express their joy, be it a dance or music. You like what appeals to you, but will not look down on others way of cherishing their culture.

Social Pluralism :: Some times when we don't like others, we tend to put them down as ditch digger, menial job.... there is nothing inferior about any job, some one has to do the job. If a man does not have ambition to make more money, there is no need to look down, he or she has her own balance to live by.

Political pluralism :: disagreeing but not disrespecting the other party allows us to look things differently than digging in our heels.

Religious pluralism :: Its the toughest one for most people who grew up thinking that other religions must be inferior, because mine is good. Mind you, religion is never the problem, it is our attitude that creates conflicts.  Religious pluralism is respecting everywhich way one appreciates the creator. In reality all religions inculcate the idea of thinking for others, what you would want yourselves.

Familial Pluralism is once again valuing each relationship with dignity and respect for better family relationships.

Thank you
